On the Mild Frustrations of Writing for Online Content and Manuscript Format in the Same Day

So I’ve written (depending on how you calculate these things) about 180 pages of novel in the last three weeks. On weekends, I write 2-3 newspaper columns that end up posted online.

Manuscript format: Indents. Two spaces between sentences.

Online article format: Carriage returns between paragraphs. Non-indented. A single space between sentences.

In the course of this review, I’ve already caught myself correcting three different instances where I used manuscript instead of article formatting. My editor’s going to hate me until this book is done.
